What if you’re not happy with your job, but you’re not sure what you want to do with your life? Here are a few suggestions to help you get started figuring it out:

1. Make a list of what you enjoy. What makes you happy?

2. Make a list of things that put you in the zone. When do you lose all sense of time and space?

3. Make a list of things that give you purpose. What do you feel you can contribute that is meaningful? What is your special talent?

It’s ok to not know what you want, and maybe you won’t figure it out right away. Spend some time reflecting on the list above. A lot of times we’ve chosen our careers based on what will make our families happy, and it’s only after working in an unfulfilling job for a few years do we take a step back and figure out our own desires.

Have you made a career change? Please share what you did and how you made your decision.
